May 19^th was the opening of an exhibit called "Shoes" at The Coast Collective Art Gallery.  One of my paintings was accepted for this show. I was so excited because this was the first time I have submitted any of my work for an outside show.

This show is so much fun! I couldn't believe the number of different interpretations on the theme of shoes.

Coast Collective is in an old manor house on Esquimalt lagoon.  It's a beautiful site overlooking the lagoon with quite a large property.  You could spend a lot of time wandering around admiring the beauty or choosing spots for a plein aire painting.

The show "Shoes" is on until June 2^nd, so this is the last weekend for taking it in.  I would recommend it to everyone!

Below is a photo taken at the opening.  My painting is the landscape with many shoes hanging on the fence. This is a real place near Blenheim, New Zealand. (and the number of shoes increases every time we go down there!)

Well I've come to the end of my second art show in the last month.  During the month of April I showed 2 of my paintings in the LOOK  Show at the Bay Centre.  I thought it was a good show this year, with lots of people checking it out.  Then for the past week I have displayed 5 of my paintings in the Studio 30 Art Show at the Tillicum Mall in Victoria.   I had quite a bit of positive feed back on my paintings, which was nice to hear.  I also did an afternoon of demonstrating.  I started an acrylic painting which I will have to post when it is finshed.  Although I didn't sell any of my paintings, a lot of the other artist's did.  But I did sell some of my art cards.  It was a good week!  I have been so busy that I haven't had much time for painting, so now I'm looking forward to spending some more time in my studio.  I have lots of ideas.
