Well, I know it has been a very long time since I posted anything on my Blog. I went through a dry period artistically at the end of last year and couldn't get into or finish anything.

But now finally, I have finished some pieces. Got my "mojo" back, so to speak.

I wanted to do a painting of cows from photos taken in my daughter's back yard in New Zealand.  It was suggested by another artist that  it could look good in shades of blue and purple, but I could only go so far with this technique and stay within my comfort zone!

So here is my first attempt! Hope you like it!  It was fun!

Hi.
We are now  into fall and the weather here in Victoria has been beautiful.  It is so much nicer when the sun is shining.  It makes me appreciate fall with it's changing colours and crisp days.
Studio 30, the art group to which I belong, is in the middle of its first show for this season.  We have a display at the West Shore Town centre in Langford.  We will be there till next Sunday evening, the 13th.  It's a great display of our group's various artistic talents.  I have four pieces in this show including a painting of a view from Pacific Shores resort in Parksville (see below) which I actually started years ago and only finished last year.  I'm sure other people must do this - set aside a piece of work which gives them problems and pick it up later with a fresh mind.
Today I was demonstrating for our group out at the West Shore mall.  I was working on an acrylic painting of hanging wisteria from a photo I took in the Royal Roads gardens, in the spring of course!  The painting did not get finished today, but I will add it to my blog when it's done.
